conversations with students, teachers, and parents. Queueing was common at the stand, renecting growing
demand for guidance on language pathways.
PPLI team members and Associates shared lived experiences from their own studies and early careers to
illustrate the real-world beneots of language skills. Collaborating partners—including the Department of
Foreign Afairs and Trade, the EU Commission Representation in Ireland, and the Directorate-General for
Interpretation—also supported shared messaging by carrying and promoting Languages Connect materials.
Higher Options attracted more than 30,000 attendees, including students, teachers, parents, and guidance
counsellors. Career Options Cork drew almost 5,000 students from 55 schools in Munster, providing a strong
regional platform for engagement.
At the Goethe-Institut Career Roadshow, approximately 150 students learning German met industry
representatives and heard about careers that require German language skills. PPLI contributed by advising
students on educational pathways, study-abroad opportunities, and the personal value of sustained
language learning.
