5 Sessions
Overview:
Let’s Talk Languages - Consultation Sessions support school teams as they review, enhance and expand foreign
language provision. The sessions help schools ensure that their language ofering renects local needs and
opportunities.
Main Aims:
•
Provide senior management teams with the supports they need to enhance language provision.
•
Increase awareness among senior management of the importance of language learning for all students.
•
Encourage the uptake, expansion and diversiocation of foreign language options suitable for each
school9s context.
Activity:
Following a review of earlier advisory sessions, the newly rebranded Let’s Talk Languages - Consultation
Sessions continued to support school teams in examining their overall MFL provision, with a particular focus
on schools new to working with PPLI. During these visits, PPLI Development Oocers also received
professional support through lesson observations and constructive dialogue.
Impact:
•
Participants reported that the sessions were supportive of MFL provision in their schools.
•
Schools felt more conodent in reviewing, supporting and diversifying their MFL curriculum.
Next Steps:
•
Continue to deliver these sessions to support schools implementing the Languages Connect strategy.
•
Provide ongoing support for PPLI Development Oocers as part of this work.
