Teaching Council Criteria Shortfall Funding Scheme
Since its introduction in 2021, 25 applications have been successful, with eight teachers completing
registration in their target language. In 2025, one application was approved and one teacher registered with
the Teaching Council.
Impact:
•
Teachers reported that the scheme supported them to complete their registration requirements.
•
Increased registration contributed to expanded qualioed teaching capacity in schools.
Next steps:
•
Continue to operate the schemes in 2026, after which both will be discontinued, as alternative postgraduate programmes have now been made available through the Department of Education and Youth.
