In 2025, PPLI and Oide Technology in Education co-hosted two national AI for MFL Teachers Think-In events.
Over 150 MFL teachers and key stakeholders from across Ireland participated. The Think-Ins, aligned with
Action 1.C.9 of the Languages Connect Strategy, created a space for critical engagement, collaboration, and
practical exploration of AI in language education.
The programme combined guided presentations, peer-led sessions and structured group discussion. Teachers
explored practical classroom applications of AI, ethical considerations and strategies for integrating AI
meaningfully into teaching and learning.
A key highlight was a session on prompt engineering using the RASE framework (Role, Ask, Specioc,
Experiment), which teachers identioed as particularly relevant for real-world classroom use. A TeachMeet
session also showcased teacher-led challenges, innovations and renective practice, and was frequently cited as
one of the most valuable elements due to its direct classroom applicability.
