June Staf Day for PPLI Development Oocers
The annual staf day combined professional learning with operational updates and community building.
Sessions focused on classroom practice, action-oriented methodologies, and diferentiated workshops on AI.
The event provided space for renection, consolidation, and strengthening professional relationships.
Additional Professional Learning Supports
Mentoring, school visits, and classroom observation remained central to supporting development oocers.
Peer learning, observation opportunities and teacher-led activities contributed to a collaborative and
sustainable model of professional learning.
Engagement with the Wider MFL Community
Teachers participated in professional learning with the wider Modern Foreign Languages community,
including theme-based Communities of Practice and AI Think-In events. These engagements supported
cross-language sharing and strengthened sector-wide professional dialogue.
Teacher Registration Support
PPLI employs 49 peripatetic teachers and supports 9 teachers, employed by schools under the additional
allocation scheme, of whom 40 have completed Teaching Council registration (a 69% registration rate). PPLI
continues to employ the full cohort of registered Lithuanian teachers and signiocant proportions of
Japanese, Polish, Chinese and Portuguese teachers nationally, supporting both in-school and alternative
models of provision.
The ogures below present the proportion of all Teaching Council registered and qualioed teachers in each
language nationally who are employed by PPLI in 2025. This provides an indication of the extent to which
provision in these languages is supported by PPLI, particularly in cases where the majority of the available
qualioed teacher cohort is engaged through PPLI.
