#ThinkLanguages Competition Winners 2025
In collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Career for EU Strategy, an
important element of the #ThinkLanguages event is the National #Thinklanguages Champion Team Vlog
Competition and, a new addition for this year, the #ThinkLanguages Individual Poster Competition.
Champion Team Vlog Competition
The Champion Team Vlog Competition, which celebrates the promotion of language learning in schools and
the wider community, invited teams of six Transition Year students to document their school9s
#ThinkLanguages Week journey through a creative three-minute vlog. The onalist teams were chosen to
present to a panel of judges at the National Final at the Department of Education and Youth. The
#ThinkLanguages 2025 Champion Team onalists were Ennistymon Community School, Our Lady’s Bower
Athlone and St. Mark’s Community School Tallaght.
The three teams presented on what they had learned from their experience. All entries showcased a
commendable amount of work completed on the event management of their festivals, and onal
presentations, which impressed the judging panel. Attendees of the event commented on the students9 top
quality presentation skills, their creativity, and their obvious passion for languages.
At the National Final, the winning team were awarded a trip to Brussels, giving them the opportunity to see
how language skills can open doors to international careers including those representing Irish interests
across the EU institutions, bodies and agencies. Chief Inspector Yvonne Keating of the Department of
Education and Youth presented the Champion Team of the Year 2025, Ennistymon Community School, with
their trophy and prize.
