Languages Connect funds summer
camps for lesser-taught languages. There
have been camps in Mandarin Chinese,
Italian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Polish and
Romanian. It’s a fun and engaging way to
connect with a culture and language that
you are interested in.
We introduced the Say Yes to
Languages Module into primary
schools in 2021. We are supporting
around 1,300 schools to introduce
a foreign language or Irish Sign
Language to their pupils. The
younger you start learning the
language, the better. You’re still
so young – why not start on a new
language learning journey today!
Every year thousands of transition year
students celebrate #ThinkLanguages
Week in their schools to find out more
about the many personal, professional
and social benefits of foreign language
skills. During the week, students explore
languages and cultures through a mix of
partner activities, fun workshops, talks,
competitions and games.
