Foreign Language Upskilling
Scheme for Primary Teachers
Fully funded upskilling scheme enabling teachers to
develop proficiency in a foreign language of their choice:
• Support teachers by enhancing their foreign
language proficiency and cultural awareness
• Ensure content and methodology align with the
Primary Curriculum Framework, supporting teachers
with enactment of the Language Specification
• Facilitate upskilling opportunities in partnership with
Education Support Centres, Higher Education Institutions,
Embassies, Cultural Institutes and other providers
Say Yes to Languages
Fully funded 10-week module introducing
pupils to additional languages:
• Engage schools with MFL in advance of
enactment of the Language Specification
• Raise awareness of the importance of
MFL education to build transversal skills
• Support preparation of teachers with
resources and training
