PiNO, Piccoli Naturalisti Osservatori (Young Observant Naturalists), is a series dedicated to
observing what lives around us, bringing readers closer to the joy of discovery and the beauty of
nature. It is also a practical series that teaches how to look, analyse, and experiment in order to
understand and learn. It helps us realise that our lives depend on a vast, diverse and fascinating
environment in which important things are constantly happening, even if we don9t know it or
notice it. In these books, you will ond extraordinary phenomena and creatures, described by
scientists, writers, and artists.
People who love to observe, renect, and discover through drawings and words. With their
guidance, you can learn to see, draw, and describe the world so that you can share it with the
people around you. The book you are holding is meant to accompany you in your discoveries.
Hence, you can take it with you wherever you go. Beyond reading it, think of it as a working tool
that you can use to take notes, draw, colour, and cut; just as explorers and scientists have always
done with their notebooks.
