When asked in question 34 what resources they would need in order to increase the provision of foreign languages
on the curriculum in their school, 58% mentioned an increase in allocation and 39% mentioned a qualified teacher.
32% of principals who made comments in the general comments section mentioned a severe shortage of language
teachers. As an example, one school advertised for a full-time German teacher and received no applications, they
re-advertised, and again received no applications.
