Reporting
The Transition Year Programme
Statement (p.23-25) describes the
three elements to reporting in TY
programmes:

• Student reflection
• School reporting.

Throughout this micro-module students should be encouraged to maintain a record of their
learning. Evidence may include:
• research findings from language audits or community investigations
• notes from guest speakers, workshops, cultural institute activities or university
engagement
• planning documents and records of participation in Champion Team activities
• photographs of displays, events and activities
• promotional materials such as posters, social media content, videos or presentations
• creative outputs developed during the micro-module
• evidence of reflection captured through journals, digital portfolios, video reflections
or discussion activities
• a final evaluation of the #ThinkLanguages event or other language-focused activity
The Features of Quality outlined in this micro-module may be adapted by schools to support
reporting on student achievement, participation and progression.
Evaluating
Reflection and Renewal is a Curriculum Dimension that speaks to the importance of ongoing
evaluation of the TY programme and of the components that comprise the programme. The
purpose of evaluating the micro-module is to find out from both the students9 and teacher9s
perspective, the success or otherwise of the module and how it can be improved for the
future.
The evaluation of this micro-module may be achieved through a mix of verbal feedback,
online evaluation, evaluation based on teacher feedback as part of TY programme evaluation,
or other methods that may be suited to the school.
